KeeSystem launches KeeSense API

With the launch of our API, you’ll be able to further customize your experience with our KeeSense portfolio management solution – creating powerful integrations that connect KeeSense to the tools and workflows your business uses every day. This opens up a whole new set of problem-solving and process optimization capabilities for KeeSense users.

« Facilitating the daily life of wealth management professionals », this is the mission embodied by KeeSystem since its creation in 2009.

What is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a programming interface that makes data or features of an existing solution available. It allows developers to connect other software to KeeSense or to automate workflows within KeeSense through integrations.

In this way, the API is a communication interface that allows two separate computer systems or software to interact with each other automatically, without having to worry about compatibility issues, and using data from either system.

Without knowing it, you already use APIs every day. Whether it’s online payment applications, geolocation, contact and calendar synchronization, or through social networks. On a personal level, we manage a large part of our life through our smartphone. It is the same in wealth management with KeeSense.

What does the KeeSense API do?

The KeeSense API allows you to take full advantage of the data and capabilities of KeeSense by having it communicate with other software or online services – securely.

The API makes it possible to decompartmentalize data and add value to the entire wealth management value chain: onboarding, KYC, portfolio management, custodian banks, reporting, client experience, etc.

From its beginning, KeeSense is designed in an open architecture to be automatically connected to the Wealth Manager ecosystem, to import data (from custodian banks or financial data providers for example) and to export data (to Excel or to partners associated to the value chain, on compliance or investment topics).

It is in this ecosystem that KeeSense is truly the “digital backbone” of the company, allowing it to drive the wealth management activity.

With the API, this vision of “super customization” of the workflow goes further by allowing to create a complete working ecosystem between KeeSense and other software used by its customers.

What concrete applications of the KeeSense API

With its API, KeeSense takes its mission of providing an all-in-one, one-for-one portfolio management solution even further. This workflow customization creates a complete working ecosystem between KeeSense and other software used by its customers.

Here is a global overview of the workflows that the KeeSense API allows to create:

  • Example 1: Onboarding a new customer

An independent manager meets a prospect.

Scans the business card via his smartphone.

The card data is recognized and uploaded in “one click” into KeeSense which automatically creates the contact record in the CRM.

Uploading the client’s ID into the file (EDM that will automatically ensure the validity of the document).

Automatic identity verification via external tools used by the manager such as SwissID or Desko.

Automatic verification of KYC / AML – Customer Due Diligence (screening lists of politically exposed persons, sanctions, negative media coverage, verification of origin of assets and economic beneficiaries…) such as Refinitiv World-Check, Dow Jones Factiva, LexisNexis.

Automatic notification of stakeholders in the sales and compliance team (onboarding in progress).

Creation of a dedicated Slack channel in parallel with task management.

Creation of the visit report in KeeSense, sent by email from KS.

Response from the prospect by email automatically recognized and archived in the file.

Collaborative workflow until the end of the onboarding process, including KYC and Investment questionnaires, with tracking of onboarding status.

  • Examples: Compliance monitoring & Client maintenance

Automatic notification to the asset manager, if “hits” have been detected on one of his clients via external tools such as Worldcheck, Dow Jones or LexisNexis.

The manager monitors if the hits match with his client.

Automatic notification of account reviews according to the client’s compliance risk.

A dedicated risk dashboard to ensure :

  • The alignment of the class allocation profile
  • Alignment of the ESG profile, via automatic import of Bloomberg data on
  • The ESG level of the assets in the portfolio
  • AML risk management through the daily import of transactions

The risk dashboard is historized by quarter and can be exported via API to a third-party tool for accounting or regulatory purposes.

Risk detected on one of the risk indicators.

An alert is automatically generated.

The compliance officer ensures the documentation and comments expected by the wealth manager.

These alerts and associated documents can then be used in a third-party statistical tool or generate incident reports.

  • Example 3: Portfolio management and order transmission

Automatic notification of the asset manager by KeeSense as soon as his client is underweight in an asset class with respect to the “advisory” mandate.

She makes an investment proposal via the KeeSense simulation module.

In order to perfect its proposal, it carries out a “stress test” simulation via the automatic export of data to Bloomberg.

Automatic verification of the proposal is then carried out by the system, in accordance with the investor profile, in particular on the suitability and adequacy of the proposed investments.

Sends the proposal by email and then calls his client to communicate all the useful information.

The client transmits his investment instructions by telephone. The call is recorded by the telephony system, which automatically creates and classifies the audio file, which is linked to the client, his portfolio and the transaction.

Automatic creation and sending of the order with the custodian bank in FIX. Automatic monitoring and notification of stakeholders via the tool and Slack channel.

Data security at the heart of the KeeSense API operation

The API allows to open the data to third party users such as customers, suppliers and partners.

This opening of data is totally secure thanks to the use of an authentication key that allows the validation of the rights of the selected user. The company thus retains full control over the use of its data. It decides at any time who has the right to access which data.

With the API, the data stored in KeeSense is accessible in a structured format, setting protocols for inter-application interactions to specify the possibilities of data exchange.

The API is then ready to receive requests for data, initiated by a separate system which can be an application or a business software, a website, a smartphone…etc.

This API transforms KeeSense into a true web service, making it even more flexible and customizable.

A unique portfolio management solution for everyone.
